600W half-brick DC/DC converter rises to renewable energy input challenge
The PH600A280‑24 DC/DC converter extends TDK-Lambda’s PH-A280 series of 200 to 425V DC input power modules from 50 to 600W. The latest model is rated at 24V output for data communications, power transmission and renewable energy applications utilising a 380V high voltage direct current (HVDC) input.
The PH600A280-24 is rated at 24V 25A and has a wide 14.4 to 28.8V adjustment range to accommodate non-standard voltages. It is packaged in the industry standard half-brick package (61.0 x 12.7 x 57.9mm) and has an efficiency of 93 per cent and can operate at full load with -40 to +85degrees C baseplate temperatures, derating linearly to 80 per cent load at +100 degrees C. It can be conduction cooled and therefore suitable for use in sealed outdoor enclosures or liquid cooled applications.
All models in the series have remote on-off and over-current and over-voltage protection. The series is fully isolated with an input to output isolation of 3,000V AC and is safety certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS Directives. The PH600A280-24 model is certified to EN 62477-1 (Over-Voltage Category III) for fixed installations with a permanent connection to a distribution panel.
All models have a five-year warranty.
