Euroquartz optimised clock oscillators for military use

Surface mount technology clock oscillators by Euroquartz are optimised for the defence and aerospace markets. The EQXO75000BM series oscillators will be launched at the Embedded Design Show (EDS 2019) next month.

The new components will be manufactured in the UK, in Euroquartz’s recently installed class 7 cleanroom facility. Preliminary specifications have been announced encompassing frequencies available from 2.0 to 60MHz, the company reports.

The EQXO75000BM series oscillators will comprise a TTL/CMOS-compatible circuit with a miniature quartz crystal in a low-profile ceramic surface mount package. The oscillators’ package measures 7.0 x 5.0 x 2.5mm.

The company says that it uses advances in production technology, optimised design and high-quality materials for a high-reliability clock oscillator suitable for the defence and aerospace markets. The principal advantages of these UK-manufactured components are that they will be free from International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), with reduced shipping costs, says Euroquartz.

Euroquartz’s EQXO75000BM series will complement the company’s existing range of dual in-line (DIL) products and will be suitable for use in new designs. The parts can be supplied with or without full military screening all controlled within the AS9100 Quality Management System.

Euroquartz is exhibiting on stand F2 at EDS (16 and 17 October, Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK)

Euroquartz is also exhibiting its latest ranges of products including miniature surface mount temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) offering very low current consumption, surface mount oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs) for high accuracy frequency control, and a range of ultra-miniature, ultra-low current crystal oscillators from Statek for high-reliability applications.

Euroquartz is an independent UK-based manufacturer and supplier of quartz crystals, oscillators, filters and frequency-related products to the electronics manufacturing industry worldwide. The company is AS9100-registered and designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of frequency control components for a wide range of customers including major OEMs covering a broad spectrum of applications including defence and aerospace, communications, general electronics, computing, control systems and petrochemical among many others.
