AC/DC converters meet medical PCB designs

Recom has developed 18 and 30W AC/DCs for medical applications. The RACM18-ER and RACM30-ER AC/DC converters were developed for medical PCB designs, which are in need of full certifications and energy efficient AC/DC modules. Both are certified to the latest IEC/EN60601 medical standards, as well as the EN60335 household and the IEC/EN60950 ITE standards. They are reliable with robust electronic circuitry and waterproof encapsulation to IP68, to withstand harsh operating conditions.

The RACM18-ER and RACM30-ER series are reliable and efficient power conversion modules for a variety of uses in medical, household and industrial applications. They comply with the requirements of the high-risk nature of medical applications, where very high standards of safety and reliability must be fulfilled. The modules take up less than 2.0 x 2.0-inch on the PCB. They are compact and round in shape, a design which allows them to be fitted into flush mount wall installations, points out Recom.

With a certified operation up to 5000m altitude and temperature ranges from -20 up to +80 degree C, the modules are built for space constrained applications in medical healthcare, household, sanitary, smart building, and automation appliances. They are covered by the latest medical, household and ITE certifications and they pass Class B with at least 6dB below the limits without the need for any external components. The AC/DC converters are CE-marked and come with a three-year warranty. Samples are available from all authorised distributors.

Recom Power supplies a range of DC/DC and AC/DC converters in every power class up to 480W. It also provides switching regulators and LED drivers in a wide selection of designs. The company’s innovations such as the R-78 switching regulators have become industry standard.

The company headquarters is in Gmunden, Austria. It includes a logistics centre and laboratory wing. Recom has a worldwide distribution network.
