Active Matrix OLED adds fashion element to display portfolio
AMOLEDs (Active Matrix OLEDs) have been added to the range of display technologies supported by andersDX.
The company is a distributor for Truly Semiconductors which has invested in a new 4.5G production line. AMOLED production on the 4.5G line is based on a Low Temperature Polysilicon (LTPS) backplane with a pixel density up to 500PPI; for TFT production the line will be based on an amorphous-silicon backplane with a pixel density up to 300PPI.
AMOLED is used in what the company categorises as fashionable consumer electronics, for the automotive, industrial, medical and wearable markets.
The line is expected to come on-stream fully in 2017. Initially, up to six inch products will be produced, increasing to 10.1inch, with TFTs up to 10.4inch diagonal, on an amorphous-silicon backplane with a pixel density up to 300 PPI.
