Allegro X AI accelerates PCB design by a factor of 10, says Cadence
Automating PCB placement and routing for small to medium sized designs can reduce turnaround time by a factor of 10, said Cadence Design Systems at the introduction of Allegro X AI.
The company claimed that the AI tool reduces physical layout and analysis challenges that previously took days to just minutes.
The tool is built on and accessed through the Allegro X design platform and reduces placement and routing tasks from days to minutes and reduces turnaround with equivalent or higher quality compared with manually designed boards, said Cadence.
Place and route in PCB design is traditionally a manual and time-intensive process, but Allegro X AI leverages the scalability of the cloud for physical design automation, offering generative PCB design while ensuring the design is electrically correct and manufacturable. It automates placement, metal pouring and critical net routing, and is integrated with fast signal integrity and power integrity analysis.
Placement automation using generative AI which enables feasibility analysis in the early phases of design. This allows designers to exploring a much larger solution space than is possible through manual methods to drive optimisation of metrics such as shorter wire lengths while adhering to the design constraints, explained the company.
Allegro X AI also ensures efficient design closure with system analysis technologies tightly integrated through the Allegro X platform where the user can optimise the designs for electrical and thermal performance.
