Arrow Electronics and Artesyn launch configurable power supply service
A configurable AC/DC power supply service has been launched by Arrow Electronics and Artesyn Embedded Technologies. Arrow has invested in its production facility in Swindon, UK, to replicate Artesyn’s own configuration line and testing processes.
It offers flexible, fast turnaround for low to medium volume requirements, says the distributor.
Arrow can now offer configured power supplies from Artesyn’s MP, iMP and low profile (1U) MicroMP (uMP) ranges. Over two million options are available and small batches of up to 10 units can be produced in as little as 48 hours. The configurable power supply option offers design flexibility while reducing the costs and risk associated with full custom design, says the company.
The distributor has installed equipment for surge and EMI testing as well as an environmental chamber that operates from -70 to +100 degrees C. These all use Artesyn’s test procedures and parameters.
“Arrow is Artesyn’s largest distribution partner globally,” said Eddie Gallacher, vice president of sales EMEA, Artesyn. The investment in facilities and technical support is intended to grow its power presence in Europe. “By establishing new configuration centres, Arrow is effectively providing an extension of Artesyn’s own manufacturing capabilities, offering the same range, quality and peace of mind,” he says.
