Automotive grade inductor case raises height to 5.4mm
Automotive grade IHLP, low profile, high current inductors are now available from Vishay Intertechnology in the 4040 case size with an increased profile of 5.4 mm.
The Vishay Dale IHLP-4040ED-5A inductor series is qualifies to AEC-Q200 for ‘under the hood/bonnet’ applications. It has a typical DCR from 1.05 to 204.0 mOhm and a wide range of inductance values from 0.33 to 75.0 microH. The IHLP-4040ED-5A inductors provide rated current to 36A and handles high transient current spikes without saturation.
The IHLP-4040ED-5A is optimised for energy storage in DC/DC converters up to 2MHz. It is also provides attenuation of noise in high current filtering applications up to the SRF of the inductor. The high operating temperature makes the inductors suitable for filtering and DC/DC conversion in engine and transmission control units, diesel injection drivers, and entertainment / navigation systems, in addition to noise suppression for motors, windscreen wipers, power mirrors and seats, high intensity discharge (HID) and LED lighting, and heating and ventilation blowers.
Packaged in a 100 per cent lead-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz to low levels, the inductor offers high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock, says Vishay. The IHLP-4040ED-5A is RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.
