Automotive-qualified TVS diodes pass ISO7637-2

Two TVS diodes from Littelfuse are designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by load dump and other transient voltage events. The AEC-Q101 qualified TP1.5KE and TP5KP automotive transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes offer a choice of 1,500W (TP1.5KE) or 5,000W (TP5KP) peak pulse power dissipation ratings in standard DO-201 and P600 axial-lead packages respectively.

The high peak pulse power dissipation ratings help the power systems into which they are designed, pass surge tests outlined in the ISO7637-2 International Standard, used in the automotive industry as the basis for transient specifications.

Applications for both diodes include DC line protection and ESD protection in automotive electronics such as electronic control units, sensors, entertainment systems, and body control modules (BCMs). They are also useful for the protection of I/O interfaces, VCC buses and other vulnerable circuits used in telecomms, computer, industrial and portable consumer electronics applications.

Both uni-directional and bi-directional polarity devices offer wide stand-off voltage ranges (10.2V to 40.2V for the TP1.5KE Series and 10 to 60V for the TP5KP). The automotive-grade devices comply with IEC 61000-4-2 and IEC 61000-4-4 standards.
