Bipolar thyristor/diode modules reduce cost in power supplies
Bipolar, 50mm thyristor/diode modules in solder bond technology can be priced 25% lower than comparable pressure contact variants, depending on the module. Solder bond modules can be used where robust pressure contact technology is not necessarily a must. Typical applications are power supplies, drives and welding.
The 50mm variant adds to the existing range of 20 and 34mm modules, and covers ratings from 280 to 330A. All modules have been developed as cost and performance optimised alternative to pressure contact technology. They are packaged in industrial standard housings with an electrically insulated base plate.
All modules are offered in the topologies thyristor/thyristor, thyristor/diode and diode/diode with a blocking voltage of 1,600V and in current ratings from 55 to 330A. Additional module types with blocking voltages of 1,800 and 2,200V are planned for release in 2017.
