Board-to-board connectors operate at 3Gbits per second
For use in industrial infrastructure, the Archer Kontrol 1.27mm pitch board-to-board connectors support data rates of up to 3Gbits per second. They are compatible with Ethernet speeds up to 2.94Gbits per second, says Harwin.
The Archer Kontrol connectors can be used in industrial drives and controls, monitoring and data acquisition equipment. According to Harwin they maintain system responsiveness and minimise downtime to keep production lines running.
The mated connectors withstand 20G of vibration, enabling them to withstand automation and mechanised processes. The fully shrouded and polarised design handles strong lateral and twisting forces and the surface mount hold-downs reduce the strain on the soldered connections, reveals Harwin. The generously chamfered front edges allow up to 0.7mm offset for blind mating. The gold-plated phosphor bronze contact areas enable the connectors to handle up to 500 mating cycles. With operating temperatures reaching 125 degrees C, they are a safe choice for small to large industrial equipment connections.
The Archer Kontrol series covers pin counts of 12 to 80 contacts and variable vertical connector heights allow board-to-board spacings of 8.0 to 20mm. They are offered in vertical and horizontal connectors in male and female designs and offer edge-to-edge co-planar, parallel board-to-board and right-angle mother-to-daughterboard configurations. Blind mating and right angle connection means they are suitable for backplane connections. Up to 1.2A current per contact is supported.
