Casing for embedded PCs includes cooling fin versions
Expanding the range of casings for embedded PCs, Fischer Elektronik now offers further designs of the special cooling fin cases for accommodating SBCs.
The existing casings for embedded PCs with a Mini-ITX form factor mainboard are supplemented by additional smaller case versions for accommodating next unit of computing, form factor PCBs.
The modern design has optimal cooling, says the company, with one open side. The U-shaped aluminium casing profiles of the EMB casing series feature integrated cooling fins on the outside for better heat dissipation and guide channels on the inside for slidable square nuts or threaded inserts to fasten the motherboard with variable-length distance sleeves.
Guide slots integrated in the sides of the extruded profiles allow non-standard circuit boards, electronic components or mounting panels to be accommodated, to integrate mainboard formats such as EBX, Nano ITX, ETX/XTX and PC/104 in an EMB case.
The robust, hard-wearing case structure has a 2mm thick baseplate and cover panels that are fitted to the profile contours at the ends. Designs with a special clip fastening for mounting on DIN EN 60715 mounting rails, with screw-on fixing straps for attachment to wall or ceiling, or with a VESA MIS-D 75/100-compatible monitor bracket are also available.
Both sizes of the embedded PC casings are available in three finishes (natural anodised, black anodised or a combination) and four lengths (105, 150, 200, 250mm) as a standard. Additional mechanical finishes, surface treatments and letterings can be available to order.
