Converters and detector boost XD series for automobiles

Two DC/DC converters and one voltage detector have been launched as additions to the Torex of XD Series for automobiles.

The XD9260/XD9261 Series is a series of step-down synchronous rectification DC/DC converters with 1.5A of output current that employs the company’s own high-speed transient response technology HiSAT-COT control that supports AEC-Q100.

HiSAT-COT is a control method that features less switching frequency fluctuation toward load and input voltage than conventional COT control. Either PWM control (XD9260) or PWM/PFM automatic switching control (XD9261 can be selected as the operation mode.

It is suitable for data processing with DDR memory and CPU that demand a high-speed transient response and can be used for operating ambient temperature, Grade 2 (-40°C to +105°C). SOT-89-5 and USP-6C small package (1.8 x 2.0 x 0.6mm) are supported.

The XD9242/XD9243 series are output current 2A step-down synchronous rectification DC/DC converters. Suppressing internal Tr. on resistance offers efficiently stabilised voltage up to output current 2A.

These converters supports ceramic capacitors; equipped with built in 0.11Ohm (TYP.) P channel MOS driver Tr. and 0.12Ohm (TYP.) N channel MOS switch Tr.

Operating voltage range is 2.7 to 6.0 V. Output voltage can be set by means of internal reference voltage 0.8 V ± 2.0% and external resistor 0.9 V. Either 1.2 MHz (± 15%) or 2.4 MHz (± 15%) can be selected as switching frequency according to application.

Either PWM control (XD9242) or PWM/PFM automatic switching control (XD9243) can be selected as the control method to minimise output ripple for the entire load range to achieve high efficiency.

The XD9242/XD9243 products are equipped with built-in soft-start function for quick start up of output power.

The XD6130/XD6131 are voltage detectors with 6V operation watchdog timer. The monitoring system is configured to set time out and release delay time as desired using a single externally mounted capacitor. They support Grade 1 (-40°C to +125°C operating temperature range and are suitable for use as a power monitor for ECU of automotive parts.

The XD6130 Series is equipped with a manual reset function. By setting the manual reset terminal to the timing of choice, an L level signal is output from the RESET B terminal when set to low level.

The watchdog on/off function of the XD6131 Series means the watchdog function can be turned off while leaving the voltage detector is left on. The MRB terminal and EN terminal are pulled up to VIN internally. Detection voltage range is 1.6 V to 5.0 V (±1.0%), detection voltage temperature characteristics are ±50ppm/°C, supply current is 8.1 μA (detection) / 2.5 μA (watchdog function off). Package type is SOT-26.
