CUI adds vertical model to power-only USB Type C receptacle range
Taking a different angle, the UJC-VP-3-SMT-TR has been added to CUI Devices’ Interconnect Group’s power-only USB Type C receptacle range. The vertically-oriented model joins the 60W UJC-HP-3-SMT-TR and 100W UJC-HP-G-SMT-TR which are supplied in horizontal, surface mount packages. By removing the data transfer pins, CUI says the USB Type C receptacles are a more cost-effective solution for designs where charging or power is the sole function.
Housed in a vertical, surface mount package, the UJC-VP-3-SMT-TR is a six-pin USB Type C receptacle that can deliver up to 60W of power with a 3.0A current rating and 20V DC voltage rating. This vertical mount power-only USB Type C model is compatible with any standard USB Type C plug. CUI says it has taken the accessibility and simplified design integration of the universal Type C connection and applied it to power-only applications. The UJC-VP-3-SMT-TR offers high reliability up to 10,000 mating cycles, reflow solder compatibility, and an operating temperature range from -25 to 85 degrees C.
The UJC-VP-3-SMT-TR is available now with a lead time of 10 weeks.
