DC/DC converters save board space
The MB1500ERU series of 15W DC/DC converters from MicroPower Direct operate from a wide 4:1 input range. The MB1500ERU series is available now, and provides 15W of output power in a compact 1.0 x 2.0inch case.
These DC/DC converters are suitable for board level power applications requiring compact size, a robust performance envelope and operation over a wide input range (or for use with multiple input sources such as 24 and 48V battery systems), says MicroPower Direct.
High performance features include a wide 4:1 input voltage range, efficiency as high as 90 per cent and high power density.
There are 15 models in the range, operating from 4:1 input ranges of 9.0 to 36 or 18 to 75V DC. This provides tightly regulated single and dual outputs of 3.3, 5.0, 12, 15, 24, ±5.0, ±12, or ±15V DC. Standard features include an I/O isolation of 1,500V DC, tight line/load regulation and efficiency as high as 90 per cent.
All units meet EN 55022 class A and include a remote on/off control input. The mean time between failure (MTBF) (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the MB1500ERU series is greater than 1.0Mhours.
The MB1500ERU family is packaged in a compact, 2.0 x 1.0 x 0.40-inch (50 x 25 x 10mm) shielded metal case. The pin-out is industry standard. Each model is specified for operation over the industrial temperature range of -40 to +60 degree C with no derating. An optional heatsink extends the range to +65 degree C.
