DC/DC enclosed converter suits railway applications
Adding to its existing line-up of enclosed type DC/DC converter, Mean Well has unveiled the RSD-30/60 series, following the introduction of the RSD-100/150/200/300, to satisfy the needs of vehicle applications.
It has a 4:1 wide input range and 4,000V DC I/O isolation and is characterized by 5G anti-vibration and a wide temperature range of -40 to +70 degree C.
The converter is low profile, at 1U (25mm). It also has built-in constant current limiting circuit and protection for over-load, short circuit, output over-voltage and input reverse polarity.
Efficiency is up to 93 per cent. The semi-encapsulated converter protects the PCB, providing anti-moisture, anti-dust, anti-vibration and heat dissipation capabilities. Therefore, they can be cooled without any forced-air cooling equipment and are suitable for applications in harsh environments.
The design of RSD-30/60 complies with ITE standards (IEC60950-1 and EN55032) and railway certificates (EN50155, EN45545-2 and IEC60571), making them suitable for all kinds of vehicle applications including railway, subway, metro rapid transit system, bus and leisure trailers. They are also suitable two-stage isolation, voltage stability and harsh industrial installations such as security system, DC UPS system, and telecomms equipment.
