DuPont unveils new generation of front side silver paste Solamet PV20A: 2017 SNEC PV Power Expo in Shanghai was the platform for DuPont Photovoltaics Solutions to introduce the DuPont Solamet photovoltaic metallisation paste.
Visitors to the event, held in Shanghai, can see the Solamet PV20A at DuPont’s booth (W4-555).
Solamet PV20A is DuPont’s latest front-side silver paste designed specifically for P-type solar cells. Solamet PV20A is designed to be used in both lightly doped emitter (LDE) and passivated emitter rear cell (PERC) solar cell construction. Solamet PV20A provides further aspect ratio improvement and superior contact, resulting in a more than 0.1 per cent improvement in efficiency, compared to other metallisation pastes used by the industry, says DuPont. Solamet PV20A was developed to enable ultra-fine line printing and contact performance with lower firing temperature. According to DuPont, it is suited to maximise efficiency for the most demanding conventional and PERC architectures while also ensuring reliable production performance.
DuPont Solamet new generation front side silver paste is already being used by several solar panel manufacturers, and two customer collaborations will be highlighted at DuPont’s booth to demonstrate how Solamet PV20A achieves increased efficiency and power output on mono- and multi-PERC modules. Taiwan Solar Energy Company (TSEC), which specialises in manufacturing high performance, mono- and polycrystalline silicon solar cells and modules, will demonstrate how it has observed 21.15 per cent cell efficiency and module power output as high as 305W (60 pcs) in its V-Series mono PERC modules using Solamet PV20A.
Another successful Solamet PV20x adoption comes from REC. The vertically integrated solar energy company has developed REC TwinPeak 2 Series, 60-cell, multi-crystalline solar panel, rated up to 295Wp, which is claimed to deliver at least 20Wp more per panel compared to standard 60-cell multi-crystalline. REC reports that the performance is the result of the combination of REC TwinPeak technologies and DuPont Solamet PV20x, which enables efficiency enhancement on multi PERC.
In addition to introducing Solamet PV20A, DuPont will highlight Solamet Interconnect Paste, designed for PV applications as a replacement for traditional solder materials and adhesives. It enables advanced cell and module assembly with more flexibility and convenience in use. A shingled cell module assembled by Jinchen Solar Equipment using Solamet Interconnect Paste will be on display at DuPont’s booth.
Also featured will be DuPont Tedlar PVF film, the only backsheet material proven to protect solar panels in the field for more than 30 years even in extreme conditions.
