Embedded computer operates in wide temperature range for IoE

Cincoze has developed the DV-1000 rugged embedded computer for IoE applications. The internet of energy (IoE) connects equipment, machines and systems used in energy production, transmission and consumption through sensors, controls and software. IoE delivers power where and when it is needed through smart power storage and distribution. It also enables forecasting through big data analysis and machine learning.

The DV-1000 is part of Cincoze Rugged Computing Diamond product line. It is supplied in a compact chassis, measuring 224 x 162 x 64mm. In addition to I/O (LAN, USB, COM ports), analogue and digital displays (VGA and DP), storage options are a M.2 2289 key M socket and auto-detection for NVMe/SATA SSD, one M.2 2230 key E for an Intel CNVi / wireless module and two Mini PCIe sockets. There are also proprietary Combined Multiple I/O (CMI) modules, a Control Function Module (CFM) and a Mini-PCIe Expansion Card (MEC) module. The CMI modules support HDMI, DisplayPort, COM and DIO, MEC modules support GbE LAN and USB expansion, and CFM modules have IGN function.

The computer also supports a wide industrial temperature range of -40 to +70 degrees C with only passive cooling. An external fan is available for an active cooling solution for higher temperature operations and to ensure continuous operation for space constraint cases or processing power requirements.

The fanless, rugged computer has a 9th / 8th Gen Intel Core processor and is optimised for edge computing applications. The Intel Core i7 / i5 / i3 (Coffee Lake-R S series) processor and Intel H310 chipset support up to 32Gbyte of DDR4 2666MHz memory. According to Cincoze it has “plenty of power for heavy multi-tasking workloads and applications”.

The DV-1000 processes data and makes real time decisions at the edge, enabling enterprises to take immediate action on the data. The computer provides reliable operation for mission-critical and space-limited applications in machine vision, manufacturing, railway infotainment, and smart city applications, said Cincoze.

The DV-1000 is certified to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration and railway EMC standard EN50155 (EN 50121-3-2 only).
