Fanless computers have storage density for intelligent transport
Expandable, fanless embedded computers, the MXC-6400 series are based on the sixth generation Intel Core i7-6820EQ/ i5-6440EQ/ i3-6100E processors and the QM170 chipset.
According to Adlink Technology, they offer high storage density from four 2.5inch SATA drives, and rugged fanless construction withstanding operating shock up to 50G and vibration to 5Grms. The computers meet the needs of intelligent transportation systems for rolling stock, maritime operations, in-vehicle infotainment, and high-speed data processing and mission-critical industrial automation.
The processors boost computing power by up to 70 per cent, delivering 100 per cent faster graphics performance than previous Matrix generations and support up to three independent displays. They also accelerate HW media codecs to enable Ultra HD 4K, while dual-channel DDR4 2133MHz SO-DIMM sockets accommodate up to 32Gbyte of memory, and PCI and 2 PCIe Gen3 x8 (or one PCIe Gen3 x16) slots.
In addition to four 2.5inch SATA III installation capability with RAID 0/1/5/10 support, via two hot-swappable 2.5inch SATA III trays, there are two internal 2.5inch SATA III ports, and one CFast socket.
Installation and maintenance are eased with a front-mounted I/O array providing support for up to three independent displays via two DisplayPort and 1 DVI-I ports. There are also two software-programmable RS-232/422/485 + 2 RS-232 ports, three Intel GbE ports with teaming function, six USB 3.0 ports, and 16CH DI and 16CH DO.
The SATA capability meets the large storage challenges of media streaming and surveillance content, and the 4K UHD resolution support delivers clear imagery as required by high-res maritime navigation systems.
Operating temperatures are -20 to 70 degree C (with industrial SSD or CFast), for reliable 24/7 operation in the most demanding environments, says the company. Rigorous operational verification testing assures the reliability and ruggedness critical for complete functionality in harsh industrial environments.
