Farnell stocks CTS switches, encoders and timing devices

Available for same day dispatch, Farnell has expanded its electromechanical and passives portfolio with switches, encoders and timing devices from CTS.

CTS manufactures sensors, actuators and electronic components for the aerospace and defence, industrial, medical, telecommunications and transportation sectors. The company’s range includes DIP switches, timing products, and potentiometers which are widely used in the design of electric guitars and other musical instruments. Customers can benefit from same day dispatch on all CTS products.

Included in the offering are the Series 218 half-pitch surface mount DIP switch. The compact design can be used in miniature design applications as well as IT servers, set top boxes, modems, security and HVAC systems. There is an optional sealed structure version of the switch, optimised for board washing during automated soldering processes.

Another model is the Series 291 precision, long-life 12mm optical encoder which features a reliable and precise digital output. The non-contact design ensures long rotational life and an optional momentary switch may be specified. Optical encoders are suitable for industrial, medical, communication, laboratory, automotive, security, audio and entertainment applications.

The Model CB3LV low voltage clock oscillator is another offering. It is a low cost, low voltage clock oscillator supporting HCMOS output. According to Farnell, it offers stability and low phrase jitter performance, making it suitable for a range of frequency control products.

A surface mount crystal, the Model 416, is a miniature, high Q quartz resonator, intended for commercial and industrial applications such notebooks, computer peripherals, wearables and handheld electronics. The crystal has a hermetic ceramic surface mount package and a frequency range of 24 to 96MHz. Operating temperature range is -40 to +105 degrees C.

Simon Meadmore, global head of IP&E, Farnell, said: “Adding CTS products will enhance our range of fully integrated and cost-effective switches and timing solutions for design engineers”.

Farnell offers a range of products in a comprehensive interconnect, passives and electromechanical portfolio to support design engineers. Customers also have free access to online resources, datasheets, application notes, videos, webinars and 24/5 technical support.

Selected CTS products are available for fast delivery from Farnell in EMEA and element14 in APAC.

Farnell has over 80 years’ experience in the distribution of technology products for electronic system design, production, maintenance and repair. Farnell uses this experience to support its broad customer base, from hobbyists to engineers, maintenance engineers and buyers, working with leading brands and start-ups to develop new products for market, and supporting the industry as it seeks to develop the current and next generation of engineers.
