Fischer offers pin headers with white insulating body for LEDs

The illumination in LED technology increasingly requires connectors which meet new technology levels. Connectors may have a small numbers of contacts in 2.54mm and smaller pitches, such as 2.0mm or 1.27mm. On the other hand, says Fischer Elektronik, the plastic used in the insulating body is increasingly requested in nearly-white material as black insulating bodies absorb an amount of light. This results in slides on which shadow effects can occur in the area of the connectors.

Following the design of standard connectors, Fischer Elektronik has established a new header design in a 2.54mm grid, specifically for LED technology and for those designers soldering processes in through hole and surface mount designs.

The company uses natural-coloured white LCP plastic  for the connectors which will be available by the end of the year. The are single-row pin headers have between one and 36 contacts. For an automatic assembling process the surface mount designs are also available in tape and reel packings.
