GUI is added to development tools
Described as a flexible Graphical User Interface (GUI), the MPLAB Harmony Graphics Composer (MHGC) is available as a free development tool.
It is designed for developing GUIs for all PIC32 microcontrollers through Microchip’s Harmony Configurator and MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE). The software allows developers to create branded content using the Harmony Graphics Library, in conjunction with their custom assets, to create GUIs in a what-you-see-is-what-you-get design model, without coding.
The tool takes care of all configuration requirements as well as generating all source code. Users can import images and fonts and add them to projects via the intuitive interface, says the company.
The tool gives the user the ability to add, delete, move, scale and configure objects within the application. Objects can be interactive, including sliders, dials and buttons without the developer needing to understand graphics code.
The Graphics Composer tool is integrated with the company’s MPLAB X and uses the graphics libraries in MPLAB Harmony. The software is available for free download.
