Half-bridge IGBT boosts current rating for power conversion
Designed for use in industrial and servo drives, solar inverters, high power converters, UPSs and welding equipment, the MG12600WB-BR2MM Series has been added to the Littelfuse IGBT Module Power Semiconductor portfolio.
The 1,200V, 600A half-bridge IGBT module series exceeds the portfolio’s previous maximum current rating of 450A. The compact (152 x 62 x 17mm) package simplifies thermal management and allows for less complex system design, says the company. The multi-chip module also reduces solder joint and PC board space requirements. The WB configuration package is available in various current ratings for the release of products across a wide power range.
Applications include power control applications, such as flexible and efficient industrial and servo drives, solar inverters, high power converters, UPSs, and welding equipment. According to the company, the trench-gate field stop IGBT technology ensures optimal conduction and switching performance. The low saturation voltage and positive temperature co-efficient means that modules can be paralleled to increase system current, while fast switching and short tail current allow for higher system efficiency through reduced switching losses.
