Handheld enclosure is high-gloss for medical user
High-gloss, ergonomic, handheld enclosures for OEM electronics make up the High-Gloss Style-Case range from OKW.
They can be used for remote controls – notably in medical and social care but also in many household, office and industrial applications, says the company. The modern, high-gloss finish is pleasant to touch, imparts a high quality user experience and is also easy to keep clean, it adds.
The enclosure is assembled using tamper-proof Torx screws, which is particularly important for medical and wellness applications. The operating panel is recessed to accommodate a membrane keypad or product label. An integrated battery compartment accommodates two 1.5V AA cells. It is accessible from the outside (via the bottom section) and features a screw-closed lid.
The enclosures are moulded from traffic white (RAL 9016) ASA for enhanced UV stability or black (RAL 9005) PMMA for infra-red permeability. Both plastics are rated UL 94 HB for flammability.
The enclosures are available from February and measure 166 x 64 x 31mm. Accessories include battery clips (nickel-plated steel), a sealing kit, self-tapping screws (2.2 x 5mm PZ1) and a Torx T10 screwdriver.
The company offers customised versions, with options for custom colours, flame retardant (V-0) material, EMC shielding, CNC machining, lacquering, printing of parts and labels, membrane keypads, display windows, plastic and aluminium panels and installation and assembly.
