IDS updates and adds AI software training to embedded vision system
New features in the software update by IDS Imaging Development Systems include multiple regions of interest (ROIs) for AI-based object detection and the possibility to use different neural networks for different ROIs in one image via Vision App.
The update for the IDS NXT ocean embedded vision system also includes binning, line scan mode and performance and configuration improvements.
New customers can choose to the IDS NXT lighthouse training software on AWS or via Microsoft Azure Cloud. The option is aimed at companies that are not allowed to work with AWS due to regulatory requirements. Instead of setting up their own development environment, users can start training their own neural network without prior knowledge of deep learning or camera programming, said IDS Imaging Development Systems.
There are three essential steps – upload sample images, label them and then start the fully automatic training. The network is optimised for use with IDS NXT industrial cameras.
The company allows all customers to activate a free trial month and extensively test IDS NXT lighthouse. No sales contact is required to activate the full trial licence, instead users register and select the appropriate option. The licence key is automatically provided.
The company has said that it will release new features approximately every three to four months. The next update, available free of charge, is scheduled for April.
