Infineon adds 600V SJ MOSFET to CoolMOS series
The latest high-voltage superjunction (SJ) MOSFET from Infineon Technologies, the 600V CoolMOS CFD7, has been announced, completing the CoolMOS 7 series.
The MOSFET addresses the high power switched mode power supply market for resonant topologies. It is claimed to offer industry-leading efficiency and reliability in soft switching topologies like LLC and ZVS PSFB. This makes it suitable for high power applications such as servers, telecomms equipment power, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
The 600V CoolMOS CFD7 succeeds the CoolMOS CFD2. The new MOSFET is up to 1.45 per cent more efficient than its predecessor, or competitor offerings, says Infineon. It combines all of the advantages of a fast switching technology with high commutation ruggedness, without impacting the easy implementation in the design-in process. The 600V CoolMOS CFD7 features reduced gate charge (Qg) and improved turn-off behaviour. Additionally, it has a reverse recovery charge (Qrr), which is up to 69 per cent lower than competing products in the marketplace. The CoolMOS CFD7 provides industry-leading solutions for through-hole and surface mount devices, which supports high power density solutions.
Infineon is supplying the CoolMOS CFD7 now. It is in mass production and samples can be ordered.
