Junkosha targets mmWave cabling at 5G / 6G networks

At DesignCon 2023, Junkosha is showcasing the MWX001 cable assembly, MWX161 cable (pictured) the MWX6 Series and the MWX2 Series, all of which are designed to meet the demands of a 5G/6G digital future, said the company.

Junkosha said it has leveraged its analogue microwave and mmWave transmission expertise and adapted for the ever faster data transfer speeds demands which have driven the next generation of data centre systems to deploy optical fibre between components. Part of this is the requirement for high performance cables to test and monitor the integrity of digital signals.

Junkosha’s MWX001 cable assembly is claimed to feature the lowest insertion loss among any cables for test measurement applications that demand signal stability with the physical cable flexibility required for test set-ups. The interconnect is intended for testing components within optical fibre communications systems. Cable insertion loss is minimised due to its cable structure, which is optimised for measurement up to 110GHz with 1psec skew matching. The combination of low loss and one psec precision skew match monitor eye diagrams. MWX001 also exhibits excellent phase stability, said Junkosha, for signal transmission and predictable skew performance.

The MWX6 series provides highly precise skew matching with less than one psec skew between pairs to measure digital transmissions. The MWX6 cable has low insertion loss, appropriate for measuring precision differential transmission signals. Four types of cables are available with a variety of frequencies, from 26.5 to 67GHz.

The MWX161 cable features consistent test signal integrity for the level of data transmission needed to handle the increasingly demanding end uses.
