Kit evaluates IEEE 802.1 TSN standards
Containing everything needed to evaluate the features of the emerging IEEE 802.1 Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards, an evaluation kit from Innovasic is based on the company’s fido5000 REM switch technology.
It is pre-installed with the most mature TSN features, starting with 802.1AS and 802.1Qbv. As TSN standards evolve, new features will be made available as free of charge downloads through the company’s developer portal.
In addition to the time synchronisation standard, 802.1AS, AS-REV and scheduled traffic (802.1Qbv) standard, the kit supports 802.1Qci, for ingress policing, 802.1CB for seamless redundancy, 802.1Qcc for stream reservation protocol and 802.1Qbu / 802.3br for pre-emption.
Evaluation is simplified by using the kit as a TSN gateway, says the company. Ethernet-enabled devices can be plugged into the kit’s Ethernet port and the other two ports are plugged into a TSN network. The TSN gateway is then configured to send and receive streams over the TSN network-based messages to and from the standard Ethernet device.
