Littelfuse introduces SiC Schottky diodes
At PCIM Europe 2017 (16 to 18 May) in Nuremberg, Germany, Littelfuse marks its first step into silicon carbide (SiC) technology as a mainstream technology.
The GEN2 series 1200V SiC Schottky diodes are the first commercially available SiC devices developed through Littelfuse’s partnership with Monolith Semiconductor.
“After decades of development effort, it’s increasingly clear that SiC diodes and MOSFETs are finally entering the semiconductor mainstream and are poised for widespread commercial success,” announced Corey Deyalsingh, director of Power Semiconductor, Electronics Business Unit at Littelfuse.
Other new products on display include POWR-SPEED PSR series, high-speed square body fuses, which are designed specifically to protect power semiconductor devices such as diodes, triacs, silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs), metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs), insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) -based applications and other solid state devices that are typically designed into power conversion and power conditioning equipment. Applications for the high-speed fuses include uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), inverters, rectifiers, energy storage systems, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, AC and DC drives, regenerative drives, industrial heaters, DC injection braking, DC common bus applications.
Littelfuse was founded in 1927 and produces circuit protection, power control and sensing. The company serves customers in the electronics, automotive and industrial markets with technologies including fuses, semiconductors, polymers, ceramics, relays and sensors. It has over 10,000 employees in more than 40 locations throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.
If you are visiting PCIM Europe 2017, Littelfuse is in Hall 7, Booth 335.
