Low profile inductors from Vishay Intertechnology save space in portable electronics
Non-shielded and shielded devices from Vishay Intertechnology deliver inductance up to 100-microH in 1212, 1616, and 2020 case sizes.
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced two series of low-profile power inductors optimised for DC/DC conversion in portable electronics. The Vishay Dale IFL and IFLS series devices are offered in compact 1212, 1616, and 2020 case sizes with low profiles down to 1.0mm.
With their small size, high inductance values, normally reserved for larger components, and frequencies up to 5MHz, the Vishay Dale IFL and IFLS devices save space in notebooks, desktop PCs, and servers, low profile, high current power supplies and point of load (PoL) converters, and DC/DC converters for distributed power systems and FPGAs (field programmable gate arrays).
IFL and IFLS series devices feature a ferrite core with polyurethane enamelled copper wire and an epoxy resin adhesive. The non-shielded IFL series offers typical DCR from 42 to 2460-mOhm and high rated saturation current to 7.5A. The shielded IFLS series protects nearby components from magnetic radiation while providing typical DCR (direct current resistance) from 43 to 1730-mOhm and rated current to 3.8A. All devices are RoHS-compliant and operate over a temperature range of -40 to +105 degree C.
Samples and production quantities of the IFL and IFLS series inductors are available now. Lead time for larger order is 10 weeks.
Vishay Intertechnology manufactures discrete semiconductors, such as diodes, MOSFETs, (metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors, and infrared optoelectronics, together with passive electronic components, such as resistors, inductors, and capacitors. Components are used in electronic devices and equipment, in the industrial, computing, automotive, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, power supplies, and medical markets.
