Miniature cable assemblies are for high vibration industrial applications

Miniature cable assemblies by Amphenol RF include IP-rated SMA and TNC connectors designed on micro-coax cable. The additions expand the company’s miniature cable assembly range with I-PEX’s MHF I LK connector to extend its AMC connector line.

The SMA and TNC to MHF I LK locking cable assemblies are supplied on flexible 1.13mm micro-coax cable. They are pre-configured assemblies which offer “excellent vibration resistance for applications that may experience continuous shock and movement” said the company. The MHF I LK connector has a mechanical locking feature which increases the plug retention force ensuring a reliable and stable connection. The MHF I LK connector is compatible with Amphenol RF’s existing line of AMC connectors.

The new 50 Ohm cable assemblies are available in IP67 and non-IP rated SMA, RP-SMA, TNC and RP-TNC configurations in standard lengths ranging from 50 to 40mm. Custom lengths are available upon request.

SMA connectors are constructed with gold-plated brass bodies and gold-plated, beryllium copper contacts. TNC connectors are manufactured with nickel-plated brass bodies and gold-plated brass contacts. The front mount bulkhead connectors used in some of the configurations create resistance to tampering for publicly accessible systems using a flange on the outside of the device’s enclosure and mounting hardware enclosed inside the box. Rear mount connectors are also available.

The combination of these robust and durable RF interfaces on flexible coax cable makes them suitable for emerging industrial automation, RFID and GPS technology. The locking and secure mating capabilities of this assembly help to mitigate the risk of unmating in hazardous industrial environments, advised Amphenol RF. Many configurations of this assembly are able to support higher frequency Wi-Fi 6E applications.

Amphenol RF manufactures coaxial connectors for use in radio frequency (RF), microwave and data transmission system applications.

The company is headquartered in Danbury, Connecticut, USA, and has global sales, marketing and manufacturing locations in North America, Asia and Europe. Standard products include RF connectors, coaxial adapters and RF cable assemblies. Custom engineered products include multi-port ganged interconnect, blind mate and hybrid mixed-signal solutions.
