Modular transportation embedded PC is certified for transport

Equipped with vehicle, railway and marine-related certifications, industrial grade temperatures and various I/O connectors, the tBOX500-510-FL is a modular, fanless embedded system from Axiomtek.

The  multi-purpose transportation box tBOX500-510-FL PC comes with the on-board seventh generation Intel Core or Intel Celeron processor 3965U and on-board two DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 32Gbyte system memory. It offers two I/O module slots and a selection of value-added modules to meet different user requirements and customisations. The rugged tBOX500-510-FL is certified with E-Mark, ISO 7637-2, EN 50155, EN 50121, DNV 2.4, EN 45545-2 and IEC 60945.

The tBOX500-510-FL supports a wide temperature range from -40 to +70 degree C and anti-vibration of up to 3Grms. The tBOX500-510-FL is equipped with intelligent power management and offers ACC on/off delay, shutdown delay and over- and under-voltage protection. It supports a wide voltage input range namely nine to 36V DC for vehicle applications, 14 to 32V DC for railway and marine applications, and 16.8 to 137.5V DC for railway applications.

For system integrators with extensive storage needs, the box computer offers two 2.5-inch SATA HDDs and one mSATA. The tBOX500-510-FL transportation embedded system is suitable for transportation-related applications such as security surveillance, onboard devices controller, truck fleet management, data transfer, and onboard passenger infotainment system.

The user can choose the module to customise the system. The PoE module allows the customer to connect IP camera directly without installing an extra PoE switch and save overall cost, says Axiomtek. Each port supports maximum 30W PoE (IEEE 802.3at) output, the total power budget is 120W. An external PoE power supply enables the embedded PC to support eight-port PoE outputs while operating under extreme environments.

The compact size of the tBOX500-510-FL allows it to easily fit into the traffic control cabinet. The unit comes with three full-sized PCI Express Mini Card slots and two SIM card slots for 3G/4G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connections

Multiple I/O design includes one GbE LAN, four USB 3.0 ports, one COM port, one DVI-I port, two audio ports, one power input (M12 or phoenix connector), one PoE power input, four antenna openings, one remote power switch, and one reset button.

Module options include an four-port PoE module, four-port GbE LAN module, four-port isolated RS-232/422/485 module, isolated DIO (eight-in/eight-out) module, four-port isolated CANbus 2.0A/B module, five-port BNC (four-port video-in and one-port audio-in) module. Custom I/O modules can be developed within a short period of time and achieve real cost savings with minor equipment adjustments, says Axiomtek.
