Modules reduce IoT development time
Distributor, Mouser Electronics, now offers the Telegesis ETRX35x ZigBee modules from Silicon Labs. They are based on the company’s EM358x SoCs and the ZigBee PRO-compliant EmberZNet stack.
The modules are small, low-power 2.4GHz modules that are designed to be integrated into devices. They add connectivity to Thread technology, a low-power, IPv6-addressable, self-healing mesh network with advanced security implemented at the networking layer.
The certified wireless modules integrate the antenna and provide a pre-certified RF design. They are based on an ARM Cortex-M3 processor, and offer up to 512kbytes of flash memory and up to 64kbytes of RAM. They are available with either an integrated chip antenna or U.FL coaxial connector. They also include JTAG programming and real-time packet tracing, hardware-supported AES-128 encryption, 24 GPIOs, 16 radio channels, a 250kbit/s over-the-air data rate, and a robust Wi-Fi and Bluetooth co-existence.
The distributor also stocks the tested and approved low power mesh networking ETRX358x devices that are ready for use with Thread technology. The Thread-ready modules offer engineers a simple migration path to quickly and easily drop a future-proof solution into a variety of existing RF wireless board designs as well as smart metering, medical, smart lighting, building control, and home automation applications, says the distributor.
