Molex connector for 400Gbit/s Ethernet applications are offered by Molex
Distribtutor, Mouser Electronics, is now stocking the zCD Interconnect System connector from Molex. The connector offers a high level of integration, long-term reliability and a compact form factor, says the company, that will help enable widespread adoption of 400Gbit/s technology.
The zCD connector supports high-bandwidth, next-generation Ethernet applications in telecommunications, networking, and enterprise computing environments. It enables 4.4Tbyte/s with 11 modules on a line card to support 400Gbit Ethernet. The short-body passive connector accepts both passive and active copper cables. The compact form factor is constructed on a straight, back-route footprint with a 0.75mm pitch. The small pitch eliminates footprint side-routing, and the design provides what is claimed to be industry-leading port-count density with close placement along the panel.
The connector has an elastomeric gasket for EMI containment and suppression and a press-fit design to ensure a robust and simple board termination. Thermal management accepts a range of customer-specified thermal modules and heat sinks. The connector can be used for a variety of Ethernet-based applications, including telecommunication devices, core switches, routers, data centres, enterprise computing devices, or top of rack (TOR) switches.
