Mouser adds Infineon’s Arduino-compatible switch shield
To prototype and evaluate designs, Mouser Electronics offers the Protected Switch Shield with Profnet 24V for Arduino from Infineon Technologies. The shield is a power switch evaluation board compatible with Arduino microcontroller boards and with Infineon’s XMC microcontroller kits using the Arduino form factor.
It is equipped with three protected high-side power MOSFETs — two BTT6030-2EKA and one BTT6020-1EKA — to offer a total of five 24V channels, each with a nominal current of 4.0 to 5.0A. Profnet intelligent power switches consist of DMOS power transistor and CMOS logic circuitry for built-in protection. The devices offer protection against overload, over-voltage, short-circuit, excessive temperature, loss of ground, power supply loss, and ESD. The Profnet devices are also capable of protecting against dynamic overvoltage such as load dump and inductive load turn-off.
The shield runs from 8.0 to 36V nominal input voltage and provides a driver circuit with logic level inputs and load diagnosis with current sense capability. The 24V devices are designed to drive resistive, capacitive, and inductive loads such as automotive bulbs, valves, and supply switches for motors using PWM (up to 400Hz) or DC.
