Mouser improves connectivity with Texas Instruments USB range
Distributor Mouser now stocks two new USB connectivity options from Texas Instruments. The TPS25740/TPS25740A USB source controllers and the TUSB1002 USB 3.1 10Gbit/s linear redriver to improve the connectivity of peripherals and increase the speed of transferring data in personal and consumer electronics, automotive and industrial USB designs.
The controllers are USB Power Delivery (PD) devices that implement a source that is compliant to USB Power Delivery 2.0 version 1.2 and Type-C revision 1.2. They enable up to three different voltages using USB-PD, and have pin-selectable voltage and peak power settings. Integrated into each controller are protection features for high voltage and safety. Target applications are data-less USB-PD adapters, dedicated charging ports, and power banks. Evaluation modes for both source controllers are also available from the distributor.
The TUSB1002 is claimed to be the industry’s first dual-channel USB 3.1 Gen 2 redriver and signal conditioner. The low power device can help reduce idle power consumption through the use of USB 3.1 low-power modes. It has a linear equaliser with 14 settings that compensate for signal path losses. Dual lane implementation, small package size, coupled with support for both USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbit/s) and Gen 2 (10Gbit/s) allow design flexibility. It is also claimed to have best-in-class equalisation performance to help system designs pass standard USB compliance in notebook and desktop computers, TVs, tablets, active cable, mobile phones and docking stations. An evaluation module is also available.
