Mouser wins race to stock Infineon’s CoolMOS P7 MOSFET family
Mouser Electronics is the first distributor to stock Infineon’s CoolMOS P7 800V MOSFETs. The MOSFETs are based on the company’s super junction technologies, and are designed for low-power switch mode power supply (SMPS) applications and focus on flyback applications such as adapter and charger, LED driver, audio SMPS, AUX and industrial power.
They offer up to 0.6 per cent efficiency gain and two to eight degrees C lower MOSFET temperature compared to similar parts tested in typical flyback applications. This is achieved by reducing Eoss and Qg by over 50 per cent, as well as reductions in Ciss and Coss. The devices also enable higher power density in designs through lower switching losses and exceptional RDS(ON).
The devices integrate a Zener diode to improve ESD ruggedness protection up to Class 2 (HBM). They are easy to drive and to design-in, says the company, due to best-in-class gate threshold voltage of 3V and the smallest gate threshold voltage variation of only ± 0.5V.
The distributor stocks the 800V CoolMOS P7 devices in an assortment of packages with on-resistances of 280, 450, 1400, and 4500mOhms.
