New IC is the first in series to implement flexible power islands
Joining the lineup of Silego Technology’s GreenPAK (GPAK) programmable mixed-signal ICs, the SLG46125, can serve as an ultra-small power management IC, says the company. Features include voltage monitoring, power sequencing, reset and power switches that are configurable in settings and interconnect. It is also the first in a series of parts designed to create flexible power islands (FPI).
Designers can divide a complex power system into a number of local power regions (or islands), each of which includes the power control, sequencing and regulation needed to support loads in the immediate vicinity. The company believes that this technique results in higher performance and a more efficient solution that can be tailored to the requirements of each system in ever-moe complex mobile devices.
The SLG46125 captures many power system functions (power monitoring, sequencing, reset and power switching) in a tiny 1.6 x 2.0 mm 16-pin MSTQFN fully encapsulated plastic package.
Using the company’s GUI GPAK Designer and GPAK development hardware, designers can implement their configuration of the device, to customise the functions to match power requirements.
