Open IoT data management and analytics focuses on medical use
Support for the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) Connected Care Testbed is provided by Real-Time Innovations (RTI), in partnership with Infosys, PTC and the Massachusetts General Hospital MD PnP Lab.
The Connected Care Testbed is designed to develop an open IoT data management and analytics platform for clinical and remote medical devices to gather and process patient monitoring data to improve patient care.
RTI’s Connext Data Distribution Service (DDS) technology will provide the connectivity platform for the Connected Care Testbed to facilitate the patient monitoring and co-ordinate different devices in a hospital.
The MD PnP Integrated Clinical Environment (ICE) will also support clinical and hospital device communication and PTC Thingworx will underpin the user interfaces and cloud applications. Infosys will be the primary system integrator for the project and will provide their Infosys Information Platform for data analytics. The company says that the DDS standard can address the challenges of complex hospital environments with reliability, security and scalability that is proven in other industries.
Phase one of the project begins immediately with the integration of the various partner technologies and products into a solution stack. The initial remote care sites are a single volunteer household for home care and the Massachusetts General MD PnP laboratory for clinical care.
