PCB design software update is announced

Ahead of Embedded World 2017, Altium has announced the release of its latest update to Altium Designer PCB design software.

According to the company, this version significantly reduces the time spent on non-design related tasks. Designers can leverage several new technologies to focus on design, with features such as ActiveRoute routing technology. This enables designers to interactively guide their routes across the entire board in minutes, allowing more time to perfect designs and come up with creative solutions to issues that arise during development. It provides user contol and flexibility for a routing in a fraction of the time, says the company.

There is also automated documentation technology in Draftsman, which allows designers to accurately communicate design intent.

The new technologies introduced in Altium Designer 17 are available as a free upgrade for existing subscription customers.
