Personal airbag protects the rider

A smart wearable protection system has been announced by In&motion. It can be used skiers, horseriders or motorcycle riders and is autonomous, with no cable or sensor. The intelligence of the system is contained in the In&box (a box placed in the back of the vest), with what the company describes as the brain of the airbag, including the sensors and the algorithm. The latter can detect and anticipate an impact and trigger the inflation of the airbag.

For horseriding, the company has developed a mechanical airbag system, with two patents pending that is lighter and more ergonomic that the existing systems.

The Smart ski airbag vest is currently available via partner POC; with a second partner to be announced in February. The first version of the horseriding airbag will be available this summer via partner Horse Pilot.  The smart Moto airbag, as worn by MotoGP riders, was adapted for other bikers.
