PoL DC/DC converters are PMBus compliant
DC/DC converters using adaptive digital control to deliver improved transient response and system stability across a range of output capacitance, make up the iJC series. The 100A PoL non-isolated DC/DC converters with PMBus communication have been launched by TDK-Lambda.
Accepting an 8.0 to 14V DC input, the output voltage of the iJC can be adjusted from 0.6 to 1.5V with currents of up to 100A and a maximum output power of 150W. With the current share function, converters can be paralleled to produce 180A, using either a PMBus command or an external resistor. Weighing just 20g and measuring 28.0 x 35.0 x 10.0mm, the compact converters are suited for a range of applications, including communications, broadcast, industrial and test and measurement equipment.
The read and write functionality of the PMBus allows precision, real-time monitoring of the output voltage, current and temperature. Operating parameters can also be easily programmed using the company’s GUI. The converters can be used without the PMBus function, using function pins.
Operating temperature range is -40 to +120oC with minimal airflow. According to the company, high efficiency levels are maintained across light to full loads and are as high as 91.5 per cent for a 1.5V output.
Safety certification includes IEC/EN 60950-1, UL/CSA 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives.
