Powell Electronics offers ModICE enclosures for immediate delivery

Now available for immediate delivery through Powell Electronics, ModICE modular connector enclosures are equipped with SHS harness connectors from Cinch Connectivity Solutions. The range of connector enclosures provides sealed packaging for rugged electronic control modules, advises the distributor.

The Cinch 1.5mm SHS system is used as the base interconnect technology for ModICE connector enclosures. The sealed rugged I/O connectors which make up the SHS series devices have been designed to perform on electronic control modules that function in the extreme environmental conditions typically found on commercial and off-road vehicles and industrial equipment.

There are three sizes of Cinch ModICE connector enclosures available: ME, SE and LE and there are four header configurations: 18, 30, 48 and 60 I/O. The enclosures are resistant to most industrial fluids and are sealed to IP67 and IP69K. According to Powell, they remain sealed even when the harness connectors are not mated.

Other features are a current capacity of 10A at 85 degrees C, a contact resistance of less than 10mΩ and an insulation resistance of 1000 MOhm and above. The operating temperature range is -40 to +125 degrees C. ME headers with integrated RF ports, headers with integrated ferrite filtering as well as blank headers are available. The company also offers enclosures with an integrated heatsink and vented enclosure designs, with a breather vent.

Powell Electronics specialises in high reliability, harsh environment connector design, manufacturing and the supply chain. In the USA, Powell has 70,000 square feet of connector manufacturing capabilities at its Swedesboro, New Jersey facility, which is certified to ISO9001 and AS9100. Powell offers automated engineering solutions and connector ODM services. The company is an authorised, QPL’ed distributor for over 50 military specifications and is ISO9120-certified.
