Power supply delivers 600W with natural convection cooling
Patented modular resonant technology in the CoolX600 Series delivers 600W without fan assisted cooling. The convection-cooled modular power supply from Excelsys Technologies is compact, measuring 8.5 x 4.5 x 1U package. It is the only fanless modular power supply on the market, says the company, which offers a five-year warranty.
The 600W output with natural convection cooling, does not require a fan or airflow. This results in higher system reliability, says the company, with typically 25% longer lifetime than competitors. In addition, the CoolX600 leads the market with conversion efficiencies of up to 94%. Input surge protection of 4kV Line to PE for operation in harsh environments is included, together with reverse energy protection without the use of external blocking diodes. There is also safety certified operation at altitudes of up to 5000m. A 24W, medically isolated, auxiliary supply is available as a standard feature, offering effectively another output for system intelligence, control and displays.
The CX06S is available with full safety certifications to IEC60950 2nd edition for industrial applications, whereas the CX06M carries IEC60601-1 3rd edition and IEC60601-1-2 4th edition (EMC) for medical applications. For medical applications, it has BF rating (Body Floating), dual fusing, 2 x MOPP, less than 300uA leakage current. Other features include 4kV input surge immunity and the ability to withstand input voltages of up to 300V AC for use in remote locations and those subject to input voltage disturbances.
Up to four CoolMods can provide up to four isolated DC outputs ranging from 2.5 to 58.0V. Outputs can be configured to the required set point voltages and connected in parallel/series for higher output current/voltages. They can be paralleled for higher power and N+1 redundancy applications. Customers can configure and reconfigure without voiding warranty or affecting safety. Mounting options include base, side and DIN rail alternatives.
Typical applications include clinical diagnostic equipment, medical lasers, dialysis equipment, radiological imaging, surgical robotics and clinical chemistry. Industrial applications include test and measurement, industrial machines, automation equipment, printing, telecommunications and audio equipment. Other applications include naval and ground based radar, communications, test and measurement.
