Quartz crystal oscillators are low power for military comms
Low power, miniature quartz crystal oscillators from Statek are available from Euroquartz. The CXOLP series is designed for applications including military communications, battery operated devices, navigation and GPS, wireless telemetry, hand-held instrumentation, patient monitoring and infusion pumps.
They are hermetically sealed in a four-pad ceramic surface mount housing and offer fast start-up of 1ms (typical), tight calibration tolerance of ±25ppm and high shock resistance of 10,000g, typical.
Frequencies are from 1.0 to 8.5MHz and the oscillators are available for operation over the military temperature range from −55 to +125 degree C. They feature low current consumption of 55microA at 1MHz, suitable for use in low power hand-held products. Frequency stability over temperature specifications are ±10 to ±50ppm for commercial (-10 to +70 degree C), ±20 to ±100ppm for industrial (-40 to +85 degree C) and ±40 to ±100ppm for military. Output load is 5pF (CMOS). Supply voltage is 1.8 to 3.3V ±10 per cent.
Additional specifications include rise/fall times of 5.5 and 5.0ns respectively (10 to 90 per cent), duty cycle of 40 per cent minimum and 60 per cent maximum, low ageing of 2ppm in first year and output enable/disable option available.
Package size is 3.2 x 1.5 x 0.95mm and the low power oscillators can be supplied in tray pack or on 12mm tape reels. Maximum process temperature is 260 degree C for 20 seconds.
