Recom adds 20W AC/DCs to E-K range
Encapsulated, PCB-mount AC/DC modules in Recom’s E-K series now include 20W models. The RAC20E-K/277 is rated to OVC III and are supplied in a compact 2.0 x 1.0 inch (52.7 x 27.6mm) package.
The encapsulated, PCB-mount AC/DC module is certified to OVC III is power-dense with a wide input range and high isolation. It is designed to be the same size as the company’s existing series 20W model, but with a different pinning, so it is compatible with a further industry standards. It also features full load operation over a very wide input range of 85 to 305V AC. Single outputs of 5.0, 12 or 24V are available and all models are 80 per cent (minimum) efficiency. No-load power consumption is less than 200mW to meet ECO directives.
A particular feature of the RAC20E-K/277 is its OVC III rating to 2,000m altitude (OVC II to 5,000m) and its wide operating temperature range of -40 to +90 degrees C with derating. These characteristics make it suitable for applications in harsh and demanding environments, such as auxiliary supplies in roadside EV chargers as well as in industry, test and measurement and household generally, including applications with nominal 277V AC supply.
Isolation rating is high at 4kV AC while safety certifications include UL / IEC / EN 62368-1 and IEC / EN 61558-1/2-16. EN 55032 EMC Class B is met without added external components.
In common with all other AC/DC products from Recom, protection is included against output over-voltage, over-current and short circuits. The mean time between failure (MTBF) is 830,000 hours at 25 degrees C according to MIL-HDBK-217F (GB). The RAC20E-K/277 is supported by Recom’s standard three-year warranty.
