Reference kit provides full coverage for Siemens’ Tanner IC design tools

Based on silicon-proven circuitry, a reference design kit for Tanner analogue/mixed-signal (AMS) software by Siemens Digital Industries Software has been released by X-Fab Silicon Foundries.

The reference design kit is based on X-Fab’s process design kits (PDKs) to allow users to determine which EDA tools and flows are natively supported by a specific PDK, as well as which set-up might be required.

The latest addition to X-Fab’s reference design kit portfolio demonstrates the set up of the PDK for the XH018 180nm modular mixed-signal, high voltage CMOS process on Siemens’ Tanner AMS tools. It enables evaluation of the different features of Siemens EDA’s Tanner tools and provides support for tool set up, design and simulation flow. It can also demonstrate how designers can use X-Fab PDKs with the Tanner EDA environment in order to perform physical verification tasks.

The Tanner custom IC design tools from Siemens have schematic and layout editors. They can be integrated with best-in-class circuit simulators, as well Calibre, Siemens’ design rule checking, parasitic extraction and physical verification tool.

X-Fab is an analogue/mixed-signal and MEMS foundry group manufacturing silicon wafers for automotive, industrial, consumer, medical and other applications. X-Fab’s modular CMOS and SOI processes range in geometries from 1.0 micron to 130nm. It also offers silicon carbide (SiC) and MEMS long-lifetime processes.

X-Fab’s analogue-digital integrated circuits (mixed-signal ICs), sensors and MEMS are manufactured at six production facilities in Germany, France, Malaysia and the US.
