Richardson RFPD introduces 3,000F ultra capacitor cell from Maxwell
Distributor Richardson RFPD has announced the availability and full design support capabilities for a new ultra capacitor cell from Maxwell Technologies.
The BCAP3000P300K04 is the company’s first 3V cell and is part of the K2 family. It cell provides higher energy density in the same, industry standard, 60mm cylindrical design and an electrostatic storage capability that can cycle a million charges and discharges without performance degradation, says the company.
The cell is available in easy-to-implement, threaded terminals. It is suitable for a range of applications, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid bus, grid energy storage (stationary), wind turbine pitch control, rail (onboard or wayside), automotive (including hybrid vehicles), heavy industrial equipment, and UPS and telecomms systems.
The cell incorporates DuraBlue advanced shock and vibration technology, performs up to 1,000,000 duty cycles, or 10 year DC life and can provide up to 4Wh of stored energy.
