RS Components adds positive-lock single-row connector range
Molex’s Milli-Grid single-row connectors are now available from RS Components. According to the company, they make wire-to-wire and wire-to-board signal configurations easy and cost-efficient for data communications, including high-end computing servers and PCs, telecommunications and networking infrastructure equipment. They are also suitable for use in consumer and home appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines.
The single-row connectors include early entry system crimp terminals that provide a longer pin wipe for more reliable contact. The centre polarisation key is integral to preventing mis-mating, says the company.
Locking ramps ensure positive locking by providing a strong retention force to header and locking windows to provide firm locking to the receptacle. The shrouded single-row design also protects the termination and saves space. Marking helps first circuit location.
The connectors are available with a number of options, including solder-tail lengths of 2.60, 3.60 and 4.60mm, which enables the use of PCBs with different thicknesses for through-hole-style applications. There is also an array of gold and tin plating, to meet requirements for high performance or cost-efficiency.
Another option is retention pegs for surface-mount terminations on the PCB before solder processing. Other specifications for the range include 125V AC and 2.5A maximum ratings, low-level contact resistance of 30mOhms, insulation resistance of 1000MOhms and an operating temperature range of -40 to +70 degree C.
