Sensor system is food for thought in precision measurement
Claiming to advance industrial level measurement forwards, EBE Sensors + Motion has introduced the next generation of CorTec sensor technology which a system capable of measuring fill levels even in viscous media or where there is the slightest dielectric constants. Even media that is difficult to recognise, such as foam, can be detected or masked out by the sensor where required, said the company.
The new sensor is suitable for industrial and process technology applications, especially in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries while the level switches allow for precise level measurement with a variety of media. Thanks to special algorithms, the sensor system is capable of particularly precise measurements of a wide range of substances, including powders and other solids, oils, conductive liquids, cleaning agents, and even highly viscous media such as honey or pastes. The sensors can also detect media with minimum dielectric constants, confirmed EBE, adding that even if the sensor is completely coated by the substance, it is capable of detecting the fill level. In this process, the level switch can recognise, and if necessary mask out, difficult to detect media, such as foam. This allows for constantly precise and reliable measuring even under most difficult conditions.
The compact design of the PCB allows the sensor to be used in a wide range of OEM housings. It is also possible to adapt the sensor system to very small installation spaces. Depending on the customer requirements, the software can be individually adapted to diverse output signals such as IO-Link, Bluetooth, UART, or PWM. It is possible to integrate supporting functions in order to realise auto-calibration, temperature compensation or individual switching points for the sensor to be adapted to almost any user requirement, said EBE.
