Silicon Labs’ modules for mesh networking are available from Mouser
Mesh networking modules in the MGM111 Mighty Gecko series from Silicon Labs, are now available from distributor, Mouser Electronics.
The modules are based on the EFR32 Mighty Gecko SoCs and supported by the company’s secure and flexible mesh protocol stacks and wireless software development tools, Simplicity Studio. The Silicon Labs MGM111 module combines a 2.4GHz Mighty Gecko SoC with an ARM Cortex-M4 core, chip antenna, crystals, and RF matching and shielding into a ready-to-use mesh networking module supporting ZigBee and Thread protocol stacks.
The module combines onboard stacks, an integrated chip antenna, and RF regulatory certifications to help developers reduce cost, complexity, and time to market for mesh networking applications, such as home and building automation, connected lighting, smart metering, security systems and IoT applications.
This high level of integration frees developers from complex RF/antenna design and testing and allows them to focus on the end applications. The module offers +10dBm transmit power and consumes only 9.8mA in receive mode and 8.2mA at 0dB in transmit mode. The MGM111 module complies with the IEEE 802.15.4 standard used in ZigBee and Thread stacks and will be pre-certified for compliance with FCC, IC, CE, RCM and KC regulatory requirements.
The module comes in a compact 12.9 x 15mm package that is footprint- and pin-compatible with the company’s BGM111 Blue Gecko module supporting Bluetooth low energy technology, for migration and support of multiple wireless protocols with a common, future-proven system design.
The distributor also stocks the SLWRB4300B Radio Board, which plugs into the WSTK Main Board provided with the Mighty Gecko Starter Kit.
